Finiquitao – Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2026
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the iOS app Finiquitao (“Finiquitao”, “the app”) handles your information. Finiquitao estimates severance, final settlement, net pay, what to declare in your tax return and unemployment benefit in Spain from your contract details.
The short version: Finiquitao has no accounts and no developer server. Your data stays on your device. The developer cannot see it. There are no ads, no tracking and no sale of data.
1. Who is responsible (data controller)
Eric Sans Barcelona, Spain Website: https://cocoataster.com Email: privacy@cocoataster.com
2. Your data: stored on your device
Everything you enter in Finiquitao is stored locally on your device (in the app’s preferences and in a container shared with its widget). This includes:
- contract start date and type, payments, fixed and variable salary
- vacation and time worked at other companies
- details used to suggest an income tax withholding percentage: region, family situation, children, disability, age, mortgage
- what you record in the Pase Paro features (for example unemployment dates, DARDE renewal dates and, if you choose to attach it, the receipt)
The developer does not receive, store or have access to this data. No account is required.
Your data is also included in your normal device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), under your own control. Finiquitao does not sync your data over iCloud or any other service.
3. Information processed when you use features
3.1 Calculations
All calculations happen on your device. Finiquitao does not send your salary, your contract or the result to any server.
3.2 Local notifications
If you allow it, Finiquitao sends you reminders about deadlines and renewals. They are scheduled on your device, with no server or push notification service. You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings › Notifications › Finiquitao.
3.3 Widgets
Widgets read your data from the local container shared with the app and show the amount on your screen. They send nothing off your device.
3.4 Photos and files
If you attach the receipt of a renewal, you choose the file with the iOS picker, which only gives the app what you select. It is stored on your device.
3.5 Anonymous analytics and crash reports (PostHog)
To understand which features are used and fix problems, Finiquitao uses PostHog on its European Union cloud (eu.posthog.com), acting as a processor. Finiquitao sends:
- anonymous usage events, such as “questionnaire completed”, “result shown”, “Pase Paro screen shown” or “purchase completed”, with values grouped into ranges and never exact values
- the app version and the build type (App Store, TestFlight or development)
- crash and error reports
Finiquitao never sends your salary, amounts, dates, date of birth, national ID number or other personal data. IP addresses are anonymised, sessions are not recorded, and the data is not linked to your identity or used to track you.
Finiquitao does not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA). It does not track you as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency, so you will not see a tracking prompt.

3.6 In-app purchases (Pase Paro)
Pase Paro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Payments, billing, refunds and Family Sharing are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
The developer never receives your payment details or Apple Account identity. The app checks with Apple which purchases you have, to unlock the Pase Paro features. The developer only sees aggregated, anonymous sales reports from Apple.
3.7 Settings stored on your device
Finiquitao stores a few preferences locally. They never leave your device except as part of your own backups.
4. What Finiquitao does not do
- No user accounts and no developer server.
- No advertising and no advertising SDKs.
- No sale or rental of personal data.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no data brokers.
- No social features. Your data is not shared with anyone.
5. Legal bases (GDPR Art. 6)
- Your data on your device: the developer does not process it. It stays under your control on your device and in your own backups.
- Local notifications: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given through the iOS permission. You can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings.
- Anonymous analytics and crash reports: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in understanding feature usage and fixing problems, using a privacy-friendly method that is not used for tracking.
- In-app purchases: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), with Apple as the payment provider.
6. Service providers and third parties
| Provider | Role | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland / Apple Inc., USA) | App Store, in-app purchases, Family Sharing, device backups | As described in sections 2 and 3.6, under Apple’s privacy policy |
| PostHog (PostHog Inc., EU cloud) | Anonymous analytics and crash reports (processor) | Events and errors described in section 3.5 |
7. International transfers
PostHog processes data in the European Union. Apple may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, relying on safeguards recognised under the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Details are in its privacy policy.
8. Retention and deletion
- Your data stays on your device until you delete it. Deleting the app removes its local data. Backups are managed in your device settings or computer.
- Analytics and crash reports are retained by PostHog under its retention policy. Because they are anonymous, they cannot be linked to you to retrieve or delete them.
- Purchase records are kept by Apple under Apple’s policies.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Spanish data protection law (LOPDGDD), you have these rights:
- access
- rectification
- erasure
- restriction of processing
- data portability
- objection, including to processing based on legitimate interest
- withdrawing consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing
Because the developer holds no personal data that identifies you, most requests are best handled directly on your device or with Apple. You can still contact the developer at privacy@cocoataster.com with any privacy question or request.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD), C/ Jorge Juan 6, 28001 Madrid, https://www.aepd.es.
10. Children
Finiquitao is not directed at children. In Spain, people under 14 should use apps that involve processing of personal data only with the consent of a parent or guardian. The developer does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Security
Your data is protected by your device’s security and, if you back it up, by the security of your chosen backup. Network requests made by the app use encrypted connections (HTTPS).
12. Disclaimer: estimates only
Finiquitao gives estimates based on current rules. It is not legal or tax advice. For your specific case, speak to an employment lawyer or your advisor.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated, for example when new features are added. The updated version will be published with a new effective date, and significant changes will be noted in the release notes or in the app.
